Who Can See Your Credit Report?

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), a federal law, requires that for anyone to pull your credit report, they must have a Permissible Purpose. A permissible purpose occurs when someone has a business relationship with you like an employer, insurer, lender, creditor, landlord. If someone gains access to your credit report from a credit reporting agency who does not have a permissible purpose, this may violate the FCRA and you may be entitled to money damages. Contact Pine Street Legal for a free consultation to review the steps you may take under the law. (215) 345-9214, nkanter@pinestreetlegal.com, pinestreetlegal.com.
